Looking for a Few Good People

Working in the mortgage industry leads to a great career helping people make their most important financial decision. Candidates often ask me, what does it take to become a successful mortgage loan officer. I have compiled a list of important traits for someone who is either a loan officer who would like to be considered by our company — or someone who is thinking about moving into the field.

1.  Above all, someone is ethical and honest.

2.  Someone clients will trust and be comfortable doing business with.

3.  A true professional who will represent the fine reputation of our firm.

4.  Currently licensed or ability to obtain licenses.

5.  Experience in origination or related services such as real estate or financial services sales.

6.  Sales experience is a definite plus.

7.  Someone that has established relationships with important referral sources.

8.  An expert in the industry.

9.  Someone who has a large sphere of influence and knows how to market to this sphere.

10.  Someone with a diverse marketing plan.

11.  A team player who will help lift the performance of other team members.

12.  A stable employment history.

13.   Hard work and dedication.

If you think you have what it takes or know some who does, we would appreciate the referral as we have a limited number of openings for the right people.
