Hire Someone

Most of those making six figure incomes do not spend their time licking envelopes and handing out fliers.  No matter what it says in the back of magazines, no one ever became rich stuffing envelopes.  Hire someone for the menial tasks that take up your time.  Spend your time on priorities such as marketing and selling.

Yes, you are likely to be better at most tasks that the person you hire.  Your hires are not likely to have the same passion or pride that you exhibit in your own business.  There is good reason for this–it is your business and not theirs.  This does not mean that you cannot let go.  Those who reach the pinnacle of their profession do not do so accomplishing everything themselves.  Imagine if leaders such as Donald Trump tried to negotiate every contract themselves.

The key to having an assistant is to know what skills they possess and making sure these skills are fully utilized.  It also helps that these skills complement yours.  In other words, if you are good at selling and they are good at keeping people informed during the process–these skills can be complementary.  If they are not good with people, then they may be good with marketing tasks, at organizing, and automating.

The instruction to hire someone does not mean that you must hire a full-time assistant.  Hiring also means subcontracting out work such as automation.  You can hire a company to do marketing for you–from designing fliers to maintaining your database and website.  In this day and age–there are subcontractors for just about everything.

When you are listing your priorities, it is a good time to make a decision as to what tasks are important but do not have to be accomplished by you.  Getting more things accomplished does not mean accomplishing them all by yourself.
