Don't Waste Energy By Marketing Alone

Dave Hershman’s second rule of maximum synergy marketing from More Income With Less Stress is—if you are marketing by yourself, you are wasting synergy. There is no doubt about the fact that we can accomplish more if we work together with our customers, vendors and even competitors and make them partners.

For example, are your current vendors and other partners helping recruit new agents? In the past I have solicited my own sphere of influence on behalf of area brokers who were interested in finding potential recruits. I am already marketing to my sphere, so why not make valuable introductions? In this way, I can accomplish two objectives at once: providing value to my targets and my partners.

Partnerships can be wide ranging, from mortgage lenders, to appraisers, to office supply companies. The possibilities are too numerous to mention in a short letter, but if you are interested in reading more about this important topic, Neil Rackham (Spin Selling), along with Lawrence Friedman and Richard Ruff, examine how market leaders are creating long-term competitive advantages in Getting Partnering Right. Though the book focuses upon larger companies, the concepts apply to you and me. Everyone can accomplish more when you are not working alone.

If you are interested in creating a partnership to get the word out to potential real estate recruits, give me a call and we can discuss the possibilities.
